Helsinki [Finland], June 6: A wealthy driver in Finland was fined 121,000 euros (about 3 billion dong) for speeding.
AP news agency reported that a wealthy driver was fined 121,000 euros (about 3 billion dong) for speeding in the Aaland Islands (Finland), where fines are calculated based on the violator's income.
Earlier, on June 3, Wiklof was stopped by the police and fined for driving at 82 km/h in an area that is only allowed to run at a maximum speed of 50 km/h. Nya Aaland newspaper reported that along with the fine, he also had his driver's license suspended for 10 days.
This is not the first time Wiklof has been arrested for speeding. In 2018, he was fined 63.68 euros (nearly 1.6 billion dong) and 95,000 euros (2.4 billion dong) five years ago.
"I'm really sorry about this," Anders Wiklof, the driver who was fined, told local media on Thursday.
A native of Aaland, Wiklof is the chairman of a holding company that includes businesses in logistics, helicopter services, real estate, commerce and tourism.
In Finland, speeding fines are calculated based on the offender's income. In addition, the drivers were also suspended for 10 days.
