Key opposition meeting in Bengaluru today; AAP to join after Congress' backing on Ordinance fight

Bengaluru, July 17 (ANI): 26 Opposition parties including Congress to hold 2nd key meeting in Bengaluru on July 17. Two-day ‘Opposition Unity’ meeting will pave the way to unite against BJP for the 2024 polls. Congress has rallied support from a total of 25 parties for the second Opposition Unity meeting. However, AAP agreed to join the meet after Congress backed AAP's campaign against Centre's Delhi Ordinance. Meanwhile, NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar likely to skip the first day of the 2nd opposition meeting. As per NCP Spox Mahesh Tapase, Sharad Pawar will attend the meeting on 2nd day of the meeting. Big posters, banners have been seen on Race Course Road in Bengaluru welcoming opposition leaders. Leaders of at least 26 Opposition parties will converge at hotel in Bengaluru to represent a united front against BJP. Earlier, the first mega Opposition meet was convened in Patna on June 23 by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. At the meeting, Sharad Pawar, Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee brainstormed on a roadmap for an anti-BJP front.
